How to Remove the Radio in a 2001 Model Nissan Quest

    • 1). Locate the tab at the base of the gear shifter. Lift out the tab using the pick, then slide the gear shifter off the knob with your other hand.

    • 2). Open the glove box and remove the two screws on the left side of the box using the phillips-head screwdriver. On the driver's side of the dashboard, unscrew the screws on the right side of the lower section of the dash, next to the center console, using the phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the panel away from the dashboard.

    • 3). Unclip the black, lower section of the center console, right next to the floor, by pulling it with your hands to release the friction clips. Do this to the driver's side lower section of the console as well.

    • 4). Unscrew the center console at the base using the phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the top of the console off of the panel using your hands. This is the section with the climate controls and radio controls.

    • 5). Remove the small trim pieces on either side of the cup holder using your hands, then unscrew the two screws underneath using the phillips-head screwdriver, as well as the two on top of the console using the phillips-head screwdriver. Unclip the center console and pull it away from the dashboard.

    • 6). Unbolt the stereo from the dashboard using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket set. Pull it out and unclip the wiring harness and antenna lead from the rear using your hands.
