Bypass Using a Wiring Kit

• 1). Open your 1997 Sebring's engine compartment. Locate the battery. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable using a Crescent wrench.
  
  
• 2). Locate the factory installed amplifier under the front passenger's seat. Unplug both plastic plugs connected to the Amplifier. The wires contained in the plugs are the wires from the stereo and the wires to the speakers.
  
  
• 3). Insert one plastic plug into the plastic connector on one end of a jumper wiring harness. Insert the other plug into the other end of the wiring harness.
  
  
• 4). Reconnect the negative battery cable. The factory amplifier is now bypassed.
  
  

Bypass By Splicing

• 1). Open the Sebring's engine compartment. Locate the battery. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable using a Crescent wrench.
  
  
• 2). Locate the factory-installed amplifier under the front passenger's seat. Unplug both plastic plugs connected to the amplifier. Use wire a Klein tool to remove the wires from both plastic plugs.
  
  
• 3). Remove ¼-inch section of the protective plastic coating on the end of each wire. Connect each wire to same colored corresponding wire by twisting the bare ends together and wrapping in electrical tape.
  
  
• 4). Reconnect the negative battery cable. The factory amplifier is now bypassed.
