- 1). Lift the Oldsmobile's hood. Loosen the bolt at the end of the negative battery cable with a 10 mm wrench. Lift the cable from the battery and rest it away from the terminal leads.
- 2). Grab the bottom corners of the dash panel surrounding the stereo assembly. Pull the panel from the dashboard until all six connector clips detach from the dashboard, freeing the panel. Set the panel aside.
- 3). Remove the two screws on either side of the stereo mounting bracket with a Phillips head screwdriver. Slide the head unit from the dashboard stereo dock and disconnect the cables from the back of the unit (two stereo wires and one antenna cable).
- 4). Insert the installation cage (included with the aftermarket radio) into the empty stereo dock. Pull the stereo and antenna cables from the back of the dock to the front of the Oldsmobile's dashboard. Fold the two metal tabs inside the installation cage outward with a flat head screwdriver to secure the cage within the dock.
- 5). Plug the stereo wiring connectors into the wiring harness adapter's leads. Plug the wiring harness adapter lead connectors into the appropriate outlets on the rear panel of the new radio deck. Plug the antenna cable lead into the GM antenna cable adapter. Insert the GM antenna adapter's cable lead into the FM antenna cable input on the back of the new radio.
- 6). Slide the aftermarket radio into the installation cage until it locks into place. Replace the trim panel around the stereo assembly by aligning the top edge first then pressing the sides of the panel downward.
- 7). Reattach the negative battery cable's clamp onto the negative battery terminal. Tighten the bolt on the cable with the wrench then close the hood.
