How to Program a Spare Key for a 2010 Mazda 3

    • 1). Open the driver's side door and leave it open. Lock and unlock the driver's door using the locking mechanism on the door. Insert the key into the ignition.

    • 2). Turn the key to the "Battery on" position (but the vehicle itself has not been started) and return it to the "Off" position. Repeat this process three times. Be sure to leave the key in the ignition.

    • 3). Open and close the driver's side door three times. Leave the door open at the end of the step. If the process is done correctly, the computer inside the vehicle will respond by unlocking and locking the door once on its own. Press any button on the key twice. The doors will once again lock and unlock to indicate that the process is complete.
