- 1). Purchase a new battery for your 1995 Chevy keyless entry remote at an auto parts store in your neighborhood. To ensure you purchase the correct battery, tell a store employee your Chevy's model and year and he will find the correct battery for you.
- 2). Use a sharp tool to open your key fob. Pry it gently apart by separating the two pieces of the remote. It takes a little bit of pressure to open the fob. Remove the old battery and replace it with the new battery.
- 3). Try your remote with the new battery. If your remote still does not work it could be due to a myriad of other issues. Contact a mechanic at your local Chevy dealership for further assistance.
- 4). Ask to speak with a mechanic in the service department. Explain, in as much detail as you can, the problem you are having with your keyless entry remote. Sometimes a mechanic can provide you with a simple solution over the phone. Otherwise you will have to take your key to Chevy for repair, or possibly replacement.
