How to Replace the Heater/Air Switch on a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice

    • 1). Pull the ashtray out of the dashboard with your hands. Remove the retaining screws in the ashtray area using the Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 2). Unbolt the screws from the trim panel below the steering column using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Take off the fuse box cover and then remove the bolt inside the fuse area with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 3). Unbolt the bolts around the gauge cluster bezel with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the panel out of the dashboard using both hands. Remove the bolts underneath the gauge cluster bezel with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the lower dash panel away from the dashboard.

    • 4). Unscrew the heater controls from the dash with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Unplug the wiring to the controls with your hands, then discard the old controls. Plug the stock harnesses in the dashboard into the replacement heater controls and screw it into the dashboard with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 5). Reinstall the dashboard in the reverse order of disassembly.
