How to Find Factory Keyless Entry Code for 1995 Mercury Cougar

    • 1). Turn the ignition key to "Run" or "Acc."

    • 2). Open the trunk and look on the left side for a "programming connector." This is a small piece with two wires leading into it and two insertion points or pins.

    • 3). Insert a piece of wire, bobby pin or paper clip in the two insertion points to complete the circuit. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that you did it right. Leave the wire in place until you're done programming all the remotes.

    • 4). Press any button on each successive remote you want the car's computer to recognize. The door locks will cycle after each successful remote programming.

    • 5). Turn the ignition key to "Off" to exit the programming mode. Remove the wire in the trunk.
