How to Install a Car Alarm in a Chevy Silverado

    • 1). Read the installation manual carefully. Identify all of the parts and connections. Open the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable.

    • 2). Locate an open area and mount the alarm siren in the engine bay. Connect the alarm power wire to the positive battery cable. Run all of the wires to the driver's side of the firewall and feed them into the cabin.

    • 3). Drill a small hole in the dash for the LED light and snap it into place. Locate the power lock relay under the dash if the truck is so equipped and connect the alarm's power lock module. Mount the shock sensor per the manufacturer's recommendations.

    • 4). Identify the starter wire in the ignition harness and attach the start disable relay. Run all of the wires to the driver's side of the dash and connect the to the alarm control module. Install any additional options and the passlock module now and connect them to the control module. Secure the control module as far into the dash as possible with zip ties.

    • 5). Reconnect the positive battery cable and test the alarm on the Silverado. Adjust the alarm sensitivity level as desired and secure any loose wires with a zip tie.
