- 1). Pre-heat the 18-qt. electric heating tub. Once the heat has reached a safe level, never exceeding 125 degrees F, place in the flat Basalt stones, as many as desired, and the 12-oz. bottle of massage oil. Let the stones and oil heat up for a few minutes. Keep the tub close by for easy access.
- 2). Lie the person down on the table, on her stomach with her back exposed. Place towels over her for privacy.
- 3). Massage the warm oils over the skin. This will help to relax the muscles, allowing the stone therapy to work.
- 4). Place the warm stones on the problem areas of the person's back. Check that the temperature is comfortable for him. Allow the stones to cool before removing.
- 5). Remove the stones from the back. If the muscles need further attention, begin a deep-tissue massage. This should remove any tension left in the muscle.
- 6). Repeat the oils and stones in spots to which the person requests attention. The stone massage can be performed on feet, palms, neck, arms and legs.
