10 Simple and Inexpensive Ways to Look Young

Most people, if not all, are conscious of how they look physically. That is why it is not surprising that both men and women are more than willing to spend on products and procedures just to look and feel younger. But did you know that you don't have to burn a hole in your pocket to look and feel 5 or even 10 years younger? Let me share to you ten simple and inexpensive ways to take years off of your appearance.

1. Wear sunscreen. UV exposure is the main culprit in skin aging. The sun's UV rays cause the formation of wrinkles, fine lines and brown spots which makes the skin look old. Applying sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection every single day (rain or shine) is definitely one of the best things that you can do to prevent skin damage, or further skin damage, for those who already have sun damaged skin.

2. Ditch the cigarettes. Several studies have already shown that smoking destroys the collagen and elastin in the skin and reduces the body's level of estrogen which is responsible in keeping the skin firm. Do yourself a huge favor and stop smoking before it's too late.

3. Drink, drink and drink. No, sugary and unhealthy drinks don't count. Did you know that the more hydrated your skin is, the better your wrinkles will look? I know it sound cliche-ish but water really does lots of wonders. Not only does it makes your skin look good, it also helps get rid of toxins in your  body as well.

4. Get enough sleep. Our skin needs ample time to repair and rejuvenate itself so it's very important to get as much sleep as you can. Besides, if you don't get enough sleep, you'll look like a panda.

5. Maintain a healthy weight. As we grow old, our skin loses elasticity. This means, the more our weight goes up and down, it would be much harder to maintain the firmness of our skin. So as much as possible, try to maintain a healthy weight so that your skin won't look saggy over time.

6. Eat a balanced diet. Experts say that the more balanced your diet is, the younger you'll look. But if green leafy veggies really throws you off then just make sure that you take a multivitamin. But of course, the results would be better if you eat the veggies.

7. Exercise regularly. Exercising regularly helps increase blood flow to the skin, promoting a more healthy looking complexion. Working out a couple of minutes a day can really make a big difference.

8. R & R. It's very important to give yourself ample time to relax and unwind. Stress can cause cells to age in a much faster rate and it really shows in the skin, so take time to relax and rest.

9. Maintain your eyebrows. Having a neat and trimmed pair of brows makes a person look younger. Make it an effort to always have well groomed brows. Be careful though, super thin brows can automatically add years to your face. Don't overdo the plucking.

10. Smile. Smiling not only makes you look young, it also reduces your stress levels and amps up your appeal as well. It's actually the easiest and the most fun way to look young! Go ahead and flash those pearly whites more often!
