- 1). Open LimeWire and press the "Search" tab.
- 2). Choose "Filter File Extensions" from the Search tab menu. Enter in "mp3" in the field next to "Add Extensions." Press the "Add Extensions" button and mp3 will be added to the list of extensions that LimeWire will search for. You should also exclude all other audio extensions by selecting "Remove" those that aren't mp3 (e.g., wma or wav).
- 3). Go back to the main LimeWire interface. Select the "My Files" tab and click on "Add audio files I downloaded from LimeWire to iTunes." Click "OK" and the songs downloaded from LimeWire will be automatically added to your iTunes library.
- 4). Click on the "All" option at the top of the LimeWire interface and select "Audio" as the type of file you want to search for.
- 5). Enter in an artist name, song title or artist name and song title (e.g., Teddy Bear - A Teddy Bear Affair) into the search field. Hit the "Search" icon and LimeWire will search the network for results that are the same or similar to the search query. To download a song, click on the song from the list of results and confirm the download when prompted.
- 6). Close LimeWire, if you prefer, and open iTunes. Connect your iPod to the computer using the USB cable. Once iTunes recognizes the device, your iPod and all of its current play lists will be listed under "Devices" in the left pane.
- 7). Click on the "Music" list in your iTunes Library in the left pane. This will open all songs added to your Library in the main pane.
- 8). Sort through the music until you find the file(s) downloaded from LimeWire that you want to sync to your player. With your mouse drag the song from the Music list in your main pane and drop it onto one of your play list names listed underneath your device in the left pane. For instance, you may be dragging the song "A Teddy Bear Affair" from your Music list and dropping it unto the device's playlist name "Teddy Music" listed underneath the device.
