- 1). Plug your iPhone's USB cable into a USB port on your computer. USB ports on your computer can be used interchangeably, so any port that is available can be used.
- 2). Connect the remaining free plug on the other end of your iPhone's USB cable into the long, thin input on the bottom of your iPhone.
- 3). Open iTunes. In the main program window, right-click on your iPhone's name. Even though your iPhone is jailbroken, its name will still appear in iTunes.
- 4). Click "Restore from Backup." The iTunes restore utility will launch.
- 5). Select the button labeled "Back Up." This will create a new file on your computer containing your iPhone's settings. Even though your aim is to restore your iPhone to older settings, it is still a good idea to create a backup for your current settings. Click "Restore" in the final window to restore your jailbroken iPhone back to its original settings and firmware.
