How to Replace a Chevrolet Cabin Filter

    • 1). Locate the Chevy's cabin filter compartment. For Impala, Monte Carlo, and Lumina models, you must open the hood and look at the back of the engine compartment. Open and go through the glove compartment on Chevy Ventures. The filter compartment for Silverado, Suburban, C3500, Avalanche and Tahoe models is under the passenger side dash behind a hush panel and an access door.

    • 2). Open the cabin filter compartment and remove screws or bolts, depending on its location.

    • 3). Remove the old filter. If the filter is on a tray, remove the tray as well.

    • 4). Wipe out the inside of the cabin filter compartment with a shop towel to remove excess dirt or dust that may have fallen out of the filter.

    • 5). Replace the filter. If the compartment uses a tray, place the filter into the tray and reinsert it.

    • 6). Replace any coverings, screws or bolts you had to remove.
