Liposuction insurance

Most people consider liposuction as a way of reshaping their body. Since liposuction is not as cheap as they expect it to be they would always find a way to save like looking for liposuction insurance. Almost everything today can be put in to an insurance plan, and many are hoping that there would be liposuction insurance too. You can find in many website the questions that liposuction patience ask – is there a liposuction insurance? Does insurance pay for liposuction?

The answer is NO. Liposuction is a surgical procedure making it disqualified for insurance coverage. But in some cases where liposuction procedure is used to reduce the size of the breast wherein the procedure may lead to some medical complications that can be regarded as threat to the person's health, then liposuction insurance may be available but then it will be subject for the approval of your insurance company. Before undergoing the procedure it is better to check with your insurance company.  Removing lipomas through liposuction is also one of the considerations where you can use your liposuction insurance because lipomas are fatty tumours lays underneath the patient's skin and the only way to remove it through the use of liposuction procedure. If liposuction is being carried out to treat a definite or specific medical condition then health or liposuction insurance may shoulder the cost partially or fully depending on the case.

There are some reasons why liposuction insurance was not allowed. Liposuction is a procedure that is not covered by insurance because it does not treat obesity since the change in weight after procedure is minimal when it is done with an obese person. Being fat, being obese may sometimes lead to depression, undergoing a liposuction procedure does not cure depression so insurance does not cover liposuction most especially when the depression is related to the person's weight. When a person is proven to have clinical depression and seek for medical attention, that's the only time they can use their insurance benefits but not in cosmetic procedure particularly in liposuction.

Liposuction is seen as a cosmetic procedure and not as a medical necessity making it more disqualified for insurance coverage. If the liposuction procedure is carried out for purely cosmetic purposes only, insurance will never cover the expenses you may incur. It is a common knowledge that cosmetic procedure does not address health issues and insurance companies will not allow it to be included in their package otherwise they might end up as losing firms. The effect of allowing liposuction as part of their package will give the people a chance to maximize their benefits leading to insurance companies' loss.
