Clay can tighten wrinkles and smooth out your skin. Apple, grated into any facial, is good for treating acne. Honey and sugar tighten and exfoliate the skin. Witch hazel is an alcohol-free astringent that soothes and cleans the skin, as well as shrinks pores. - To come up with your own home remedy facial, think of what your skin needs. If you have dry skin, you will want to focus on moisturizers such as olive oil, avocado and milk. Or, if you have spots of oily skin, you can use a little oatmeal to dry it up. Experiment and have fun coming up with your own home remedy. If you have any allergies, make sure you are careful to avoid products that could cause a reaction. To give you an idea of what to mix up, here are a few recipes for homemade facials.
To make a lemon facial mask, mix 4 tbsp. of clay, 2 tsp. lemon pulp, 2 tsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of water. Mix the ingredients and put on your face for 15 minutes. Rinse with a warm wash cloth.
For an oatmeal facial, soak 3 tbsp. of oatmeal in 2 tsp. of witch hazel. Let the oatmeal get soft, and then spread and massage it into your skin. If you have dry skin, add olive oil or avocado.
If you want to try a a yogurt and honey facial, mix 2 tbsp. of plain yogurt with 1 tsp. of honey. Rub onto your face, and leave for 10 minutes.
For an eggs facial, beat the whites of two eggs, and add a little bit of honey. Rub into the skin, and leave on for 15 minutes.
To make an oatmeal facial scrub, mix 2 tbsp. of oatmeal (not softened), 1 tsp. of cornstarch or baking soda and 1 tsp. of water. Scrub your face with it, and then wash off.
