4th Golden Rule for a Flat Belly: Love the body you're in I'm starting to think I should be calling these golden rules, "The 10 Most Unusual and Wacky Golden Advice on the Internet Today On How to Have a Flat Belly".
What does "love the body you're in" have to do with getting that flat belly you want? Thanks for asking...
We are all created differently, and that means we will pack on the weight on different parts of our bodies.
So? Who cares? A big belly doesn't mean you are incapable of being a good spouse, mother, daughter, friend, aunt, business owner or employee.
It doesn't mean you have low self esteem, or you're lazy or you aren't beautiful.
We too often attach too much meaning to how we look.
All it really means is that you have fat around your middle.
Period.
By loving and being thankful for our bodies we are more likely to care for them because we care for those we love-right? In a way, I don't really need to give you advice on diet and fitness (although I will just because it's required for inspiration and friendly reminders) because you know what you're supposed to do.
You just don't have the time, or you don't have the energy or you don't really care enough.
One caveat is that there are certain situations in which you are doing everything right, but your tummy still isn't what it should be due to pregnancy, c-sections and/or other surgeries.
I will be writing an article on tummy tucks in this 10-part series-stay tuned.
If you don't have the time, you should prioritize, set boundaries on others, and take the time to care for yourself.
The biggest favor you can do for yourself and those around you is to stay healthy and strong.
If you don't have the energy, you may want to look at your diet and fitness routine and the time you take for relaxation and fun.
All of this will give you more energy.
If you don't really care enough about your belly fat to do what it takes, then I toss up my hands in the air and say, "Then just love the body you're in, girl!" This is your life, stand tall, feel beautiful and walk proud.
