Obtaining a Copy Through Probate Court

• 1). Determine if you originally obtained a marriage license in Marietta, Georgia. If so, your marriage license is available through the Cobb County Probate Court, regardless of when you were married.
  
  
• 2). Prepare the following to obtain a copy of your marriage license in Marietta, Georgia: groom's full name, bride's full maiden name, date of marriage, and a $5 fee for each copy you request from the Probate Court. Pay the fee by check or money order payable to Cobb County Probate Court, or pay with cash.
  
  
• 3). Bring the appropriate fees and information to Cobb County Probate Court located at:

  The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. Alternatively, you may mail a written request to the same location--include information about the marriage, how many copies you are requesting, and the appropriate fees.
  
  

Obtaining a Copy Through Vital Records Office

• 1). Determine if you originally obtained a marriage license in Marietta, Georgia between 1952 and 1996 as the state office only has marriage records between those dates.
  
  
• 2). Print out and complete the Marriage Certificate Request form (see Resources). You will need the following information to complete the request form: groom's full name, bride's full name, date of marriage, place of marriage, and the number of copies needed. Also, prepare a $10 fee for the first copy that you are requesting and $5 for subsequent copies if you require them; make the check or money order payable to Vital Records.
