- 1). Shop around for the best deals on the balloons and helium tank. Look for deals online and at places such as party supply stores. Price the difference between buying a helium tank and renting one.
- 2). Inflate the balloons properly and don't overinflate them. This will save helium and will reduce the risk for bursting--which further escalates costs because you'll have to buy and inflate a replacement balloon.
- 3). Place the filled balloons in a plastic bag once they're filled and prior to the party. This will keep the balloons from deflating and help preserve their helium content.
- 4). Choose smaller balloons, rather than large ones. Smaller balloons will look more full and lush while using less helium.
- 5). Spray the balloons with hairspray. This helps to keep the helium in and stops the balloon from deflating, meaning you will not have to add more helium.
