Kitty A GoGo Cat Litter Boxes Review

Cat litter boxes have come a very long way from their simple, humble origins, with many modern, innovative, high-tech designs now on the market.

There are litter boxes that double as furniture and home decor (faux planters, end tables and such), hooded models, ones that resemble dollhouses, self-cleaning litter boxes and lots more.

Murphy and I recently got to review a line of litter boxes called Kitty A GoGo from Automated Pet Care Products.

These are very clever designs that combine style with practicality and ease of use, cat waste disposal and cleanup.

In fact, it was deemed one of the 15 coolest litter boxes on the market by the pet news and information website PawNation.

Litter Boxes with High Fashion Design in Mind

The Kitty A GoGo line was the brainchild of a designer and former clothing buyer and a medical design engineer that was founded in 2003.

At the time, the cat products market was underserved, and there was a dearth of innovative litter boxes.

Meanwhile, with the home decor market beginning to explode, the designers wisely decided to come up with a concept that was both fashionable and functional.

Automated Pet Care Products, a leader in cat products that gave the world the Litter-Robot and the Feed-Safe dog-proof cat food bowls, acquired the line in 2010.

What Makes These Cat Litter Boxes Unique

For one, these are very handsome domed litter boxes that are available in a variety of colors and prints, which you can view on my blog, to complement home decor.

Murphy received the leopard print model pictured above, in honor of his wild jungle cat personality.

Kitty A GoGo litter boxes, which come fully assembled and ready to use, are made from sturdy molded plastic with a drawer for the litter that has a metal sifter that rakes solid waste to the front of the box for easy disposal of poop.

One simply removes the lightweight drawer and disposes of the contents when it's time to change the litter.

It is that simple.

In addition, the litter boxes come with litter scoops that can be suspended from an indentation on the back of the box.

One can also use the prongs of the litter scoop to loosen any debris from the prongs of the sifter when it's time to clean the box.

Cleaning is also a breeze. All you do is use some mild detergent and warm water.

My Cub Reporter Weighs In

I was especially eager to try this litter box because Murphy is very sloppy, and tends to fling his litter all over the floor of the laundry room where I keep his box.

As I exclusively use lightweight natural cat litters, he also tends to track this stuff all over the room and the rest of my apartment.

I had tried getting him a high-sided litter box. That worked somewhat, but he still managing to fling litter over the sides.

Meanwhile, I had tried hooded litter boxes with my other cats in the past. But I found these to be rather unwieldy; it was difficult to see and remove the solid waste (I actually would use a flashlight for this purpose); and I had to unsnap the bulky tops and set them aside whenever I needed to change the litter.

So Kitty A GoGo seemed like a great product.

The Bottom Line

Both Murphy and I love this litter box.

It has completely eliminated the litter flinging and tracking issues; it is easy as pie to use; cleanup and litter removal are a breeze; and this is a beautiful, whimsical design that I can proudly display in my home.

In fact, whenever friends or family come to visit, this is a main conversation piece, and everyone greatly admires this.

So Murphy and I give Kitty A GoGo litter boxes an enthusiastic two paws up.
