How to Get 64-Bit System Upgrades

    • 1). Open the Start menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Properties." Select "System." Within System, it is displayed whether you are running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows. You will need to be running the 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows to receive 64-bit-specific system updates.

    • 2). Open the Start menu again and type "updates" into the Search box. Select "Windows Update" to launch the system updates utility.

    • 3). Click "Check for Updates." Windows will check for available updates. This will include general Windows updates and 64-bit-specific updates, if applicable.

    • 4). Select all available updates by placing a check in the corresponding boxes. Click "Install Updates." Follow any on-screen prompts and click "Finish" when prompted to complete the update. You may be required to restart the computer.
