How to Add Content to a Kindle

    Wi-Fi Download

    • 1). Switch on the Kindle to view recently purchased items on the display screen. Click on the item to download it direct to the device.

    • 2). Click "View Archived Items" from the Kindle menu or "Archived Items" from the home screen.

    • 3). Scroll through the list of archived items.

    • 4). Click an item to download it directly to the Kindle.

    Computer Download

    • 1). Open the Web browser on your computer, navigate to Amazon and log in to your account.

    • 2). Select the "Manage Your Kindle" link in your Amazon account menu. Read through recently purchased items in the "Your Orders" section.

    • 3). Click on the item that you want to download to highlight it. Click the "Deliver To" link beside the item, and then select "Transfer Via Computer" from the context menu. Select "Download to Computer." Click "Save File" and select a save location on your PC. Wait for the item to download.

    • 4). Plug the Universal Serial Bus connection cable into the Kindle and the computer.

    • 5). Click "Start" on the computer's desktop taskbar and then select "Computer." Find the Kindle icon in the list of removable media and computer drives in the "Computer" folder. Drag and drop the downloaded files from the save location on the computer to the Kindle icon.

    • 6). Wait for the download to complete. The system displays a progress bar during the download. Disconnect the USB lead from the Kindle and the computer when the download has finished.
