- 1). Detach the doors from the main body of the refrigerator. Locate the bolts that secure the doors. The bolts may be hidden under caps that can be pried off with a standard screwdriver. Select the proper sized socket from a socket set, unscrew the bolts and remove the doors.
- 2). Remove the shelves and removable features from inside the refrigerator.
- 3). Lay the refrigerator in the vehicle with the back on top. This will prevent the coils from being damaged. Place an old blanket on the floor of the vehicle before sliding in the refrigerator. The blanket will help protect the refrigerator from scratches and also make it easier to slide in and out.
- 4). Secure the refrigerator with moving straps, especially if the vehicle is a truck with a roomy bed.
- 5). Slide the refrigerator out of the vehicle carefully at the unloading destination. Use the blanket underneath the refrigerator to help move the unit out of the vehicle smoothly.
- 6). Reinstall the shelves, features and doors and set the refrigerator where it is to be used. Allow the compressor to readjust for at least 12 hours before plugging in the refrigerator and turning it on.
