- 1). Mix warm water and a couple of drops of dish soap onto the Formica surface so that it is quite slick. Allow the water to penetrate the surface for two to three minutes.
- 2). Use a razor blade or putty knife to gently pry the glue off of the countertop. Hold the blade nearly parallel to the surface. If you do this carefully, the Formica should not be scratched or damaged.
- 3). Pour a cap full of acetone nail polish remover to the glue spot if water does not work. Allow it to absorb for two minutes to help break down the glue.
- 4). Pry the glue off of the Formica very lightly using the razor blade or putty knife. Take care not to nick or scratch the Formica by pressing too hard.
- 5). Wipe the Formica surface clean with warm water and dish soap once the glue is removed.
