- 1). Place a sheet of newspaper on a table to protect the surface. Remove the battery lid from the bottom of the garage door remote. Disconnect the battery plug from the contacts on the battery. Place the battery aside.
- 2). Remove the screws from the corners and bottom of the garage door remote with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.
- 3). Pull the top case off the back case. Place the top case aside.
- 4). Remove the screws from around the circuit board with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Pull the cracked circuit board out of the back case.
- 5). Place the cracked circuit board on the newspaper. Blow off the cracked circuit board with a burst of compressed air.
- 6). Remove loose solder and plastic coating from around the crack with the scraping tool. Blow off the crack with a burst of compressed air.
- 7). Apply a line of epoxy cement to the crack on the circuit board. Flex the circuit board to straighten it out while holding it so that the epoxy cement can set. Release the circuit board after five minutes has passed. Let the epoxy cement set for a day.
- 8). Blow off the circuit board with a burst of compressed air. Apply windshield sealant to the crack. Let the windshield sealant set for a day.
- 9). Place the circuit board back into the bottom shell. Reattach the screws. Place the top case back onto the bottom case. Reattach the screws. Reattach the battery plug to the battery. Place the battery into the battery compartment. Place the battery lid back on.
