How to Clean Wood Siding

    • 1). Rinse off the siding with a garden hose or pressure washer. If using a pressure washer, set level at 2200 pounds per square inch, which safely cleans the wood without damaging it.

    • 2). Combine 1 gallon of warm water, 1 quart of oxygen bleach and 2 tbsp. of laundry detergent or dish detergent.

    • 3). Dip a long-handled siding brush into the bucket, and start scrubbing the top of the wood siding.

    • 4). Clean about 5 square feet of siding and rinse again with the hose or pressure washer. The detergent breaks up buildup while the oxygen bleach safely kills mold and mildew without damaging surrounding soil or plant life.
