- 1). Cut the tops and roots from the beets, and rinse them under cold water to remove the dirt. You'll need five beets for this recipe.
- 2). Set the beets in a pot of boiling water. Wait 25 to 30 minutes, then pierce one of the beets with a fork. If it slides in easily, the beets are done. Drain the water out of the pot.
- 3). Remove the skin from the beets. It should come off without any trouble.
- 4). Cut the beets as thin or as thick as you like them, and throw them into a large bowl.
- 5). Add 1 tbsp. of balsamic vinegar, 2 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil, 1/2 tsp. of mustard powder, 1/4 tsp. of salt, and 1/4 tsp. of pepper to your bowl.
- 6). Toss the ingredients together until the beets are completely coated. Serve once the mixture cools down.
