- Pharmapro created the prohormone Maxodrol to give its users muscle building gains similar to steroids but without the side effects and the legal ramifications of possessing it.
Maxodrol proposes to deliver "immediate strength gains, increase muscle density and hardness, increase lean body mass, increase stamina and recovery time and finally not convert to estrogen."
The product claim of not converting to estrogen means that the user will not see side effects that could include some feminizing symptoms such as enlarged breast tissue and/or increased body fat and water retention. - Pharmapro explains that most of the common side effects seen with steroids will not be incurred when using its product, because it is a precursor to the testosterone hormone and not readily active in the body. Pharmapro says the risk while using the product is minimal to none.
- Lean body mass gains are sometimes masked by water retention. Due to the absence of estrogen aromitization (conversion from testosterone to estrogen), the user will not encounter an increase in water retention or bloating of the body. Pharmapro has not provided studies or research to support this claim.
- DHT or dihydrotestosterone in excess amounts can be detrimental to the body. Two potential side effects of excess DHT levels in the body are prostate cancer and hair loss. Pharmapro claims that Maxodrol does not convert to DHT, so the risk of hair loss (it doesn't discuss prostate cancer) is not present. Once again, no studies or research have been provided to support this claim.
- The importance of a post cycle or consumption therapy (PCT) is strongly recommended by Pharmapro. It says, "The time following your cycle is the most crucial for retaining gains you made on your cycle, and also restoring the natural order of your endogenous hormones."
Based on this statement, the assumption can be made that if you do not take its (or another) PCT supplement, the muscular gains made during the consumption of the product could be lost and a user could see his endongenous (interior) levels of testosterone remain low. This is a potential risk, because when you use an exogenous (outside) prohormone testosterone supplement, your body's internal production slows down or decreases. If nothing is done to help resume internal/natural production after a Maxodrol regimen, the user could find his gains slipping away and could permanently damage his internal hormonal axis.
