Steam sterilizers, also called autoclaves, clean surfaces by using steam under pressure as a cleaning agent, according to the University of Vermont. Steam sterilization is the act of destroying microbial agents, which sterilizes the cleaning surface. Steam sterilizers heat water to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. The steam penetrates the pores of a surface, which destroys bacteria and removes dirt, according to CleanLink. Steam sterilizers are used to clean household and medical surfaces including stovetops, refrigerators, counters and precision medical tools.

Household steam sterilizers emit high-pressure steam and may come with several attachments, including a brush or nozzle. The nozzle or brush are used to direct the steam or brush the surface.

    High-pressure Water Cleaner

    • High-pressure water cleaners offer substantial cleaning ability and are typically used for outdoor purposes. For example, consumer high-pressure water cleaners are used to clean dirt from garage doors, brick, home siding or automobiles. Additionally, they are used to clean mildew from wooden fences, which returns the original clarity of the wood.
