- 1). Check the gas connection. Weigh the tank to make sure it has gas available for use. Look at the user's label on the side of the tank for the weight. Also inspect the connection hose for cracks. If no cracks are present, remove the connection hose and run water through it to check for obstructions. Straighten any crimped hoses.
- 2). Inspect the burners for debris clogging them, preventing gas from escaping. Remove the cooking grid and use a flashlight to check for clogs. Brush each burner with a wire brush to remove grease build-up.
- 3). Remove the burners with pliers and check the connectors. Under the burners are connectors that link to the gas supply hose. Remove the supply hose and inspect the connectors for blockage and/or breaks.
- 4). Run water through the burners by placing the end of a garden hose on the underside connectors. Check for blockages and see if water seeps through the burners.
