- Many 21-year-olds celebrate their birthday by drinking. One way to make light of this is to create an invitation card shaped like a beer can. Design your invitation to look like either a single beer can or a six-pack. In the label area of the can, write "Uh-Oh...It looks like someone's turning 21!" and put the date, time and location of the party underneath. On the bottom, put "Bring your own beer. (Name of birthday person) will be drinking all of ours!"
- There is something about the number 21 that seems important. The military does 21-gun salutes and we're allowed to drink when we turn 21. Use your invitation to celebrate the number 21. Design your invitation to be made out of 21 "ones." Make three rows of seven ones and put your party information in the center of the invitation. Write, "Someone is Turning 21! That's 21 Big Ones!" Put your party information underneath this saying. The play on words should be amusing to most party guests.
- Many 21st-birthday invitations are funny, but if you want to be more serious, write a 21st-birthday poem on your invitation. Design your card to look like something that means something to the guest of honor. It can be a book, flowers, a car--anything that means something strongly to the birthday celebrant. Now, find or write a poem about the birthday and how the item on the card is important in some way.
