- 1). Fill a saucepan with 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
- 2). Dissolve the honey into the water, as it is boiling, while stirring the whole time.
- 3). Remove the saucepan from the heat source as soon as the honey has dissolved in the water. Add lemon juice, if desired, then mix well.
- 4). Let the syrup cool totally and become thick.
- 5). Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
