- If you find that your Whirlpool double electric oven will not operate at all, make sure the unit is plugging into a live circuit that has the necessary voltage. In addition, check to make sure a fuse hasn't blown or a circuit breaker hasn't tripped in the house. If the ovens still will not operate, perhaps the electronic controls have not been set correctly on the upper oven. A delayed start time may also have been set on the upper oven. Check to make sure the Oven Selector is set to Bake or Broil and that the Oven Temperature Control is set to a temperature setting on the lower oven. Your owner's manual (See References) will have instructions on how to set the specific functions.
- If the self-cleaning operation on your double oven will not work, make sure the oven clock on the upper oven shows the correct time of day. In addition, Make sure the Lock Lever is in the cleaning position, pushed all the way to the right on the top oven. If a delayed start time has been programmed, that may be the cause of the cleaning cycle not beginning right away.
- If your food is not cooking the way you would expect it to, make sure your oven is level. Your owner's manual contains leveling instructions. Check to make sure your oven temperature is not set too high or too low. Always preheat before baking and use the pan size that was recommended for the recipe. Ensure proper air circulation around the pan when you are cooking or baking--make sure you see about 2 inches of space on all sides of the pan.
