- 1). Set the adjustment screw of the Tecumseh LV148EA carburetor by turning the hex-shaped screw clockwise with a screwdriver until it will not turn anymore. Do not over-tighten the screw or you will snap it off.
- 2). Turn the screw back, counterclockwise, 1-1/2 turns, and start the motor. Let it warm up for a few minutes.
- 3). Adjust the carburetor by turning the screw clockwise until you hear the engine starting to stall out, then turn the screw back until the engine smooths out.
- 4). Turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise until you hear the engine begin to stall and turn it clockwise to smooth it out. Set the final adjustment half way between the two points where the engine was stalling.
