- 1). Click "Start" on the desktop and click the search field above the start button.
- 2). Type "cmd" and right-click "Command Prompt" in the search results. Click "Run as Administrator" and enter your administrator password. Click "Yes" to unlock the administrator feature.
- 3). Click "Continue" and enter "powercfg.exe/hibernate off" in the window. Press "Enter" on your keyboard to input the request. The command prompt window will display a message that the hibernate feature has been disabled.
- 4). Enter "exit" in the command prompt window and press "Enter" to close out of the window.
- 1). Click "Apple" on the menu in the upper-left corner and "System Preferences."
- 2). Click "Energy Saver" and "Settings For." Click "Power Adapter" and the Sleep tab.
- 3). Drag the tab all the way to the end of the slider bar to "Never" to set the computer to never fall sleep when inactive.
- 4). Click "Settings for" and "Battery." Click "Sleep" and drag the top tab all the way to "Never." Click the red button in the upper-left corner of the window to save and exit.
