- 1). Remove the surface debris from the Oriental Persian rugs by vacuuming both sides of the rug.
- 2). Add 1 gallon of cool water into a container. Pour 1/4 cup of liquid dish soap into the water. Whisk together until suds form.
- 3). Submerge a scrub brush into the mixture. Scrub the Oriental Persian rug--with the nap--in a linear motion. Continue scrubbing until you have cleaned the rug thoroughly.
- 4). Place the Oriental Persian rug under your bathtub faucet and rinse the cleaning solution off with cool, running water.
- 5). Remove the water from the Oriental Persian rug by gently squeezing it. Do not twist the rug.
- 6). Place the rug out flat on a clean location out of direct sunlight. Allow the Oriental Persian rug to dry completely. Flip the rug over and dry the other side.
