  1. Ground Birdbath:  It is the simplest design that is looks like a basin that rests on the ground. With a fountain accessories or dripper available, these birdbath fountains can easily be created from a more elaborate models or shallow dishes.  Though there are also smaller birds that will visit lower baths, it is probably for larger birds such as ducks and quails.
  2. Pedestal Birdbath: It is the type of fountain where the entire bath stands on the ground but has an elevated basin. These can be bulky but they are all easy to install and assemble. They come in the widest range of styles and designs because they are the most popular models.
  3. Hanging Birdbath: It is meant to be hung from a garden hook, branch of tree or a gutter and a shallow basin is suspended from a cord or chain. As compared to pedestal, they are generally economical but come in fewer designs and smaller capacity.
  4. Fountain Birdbath:  In addition to a bathing basin or shallow drinking, this type of fountain features moving water that can be gravity powered dripping fountain, spray or a bubbler. The noise and the movement of the water are noticeable so it is an excellent choice for attracting birds with water.
  5. Heated Fountain:  It is a good option for those who have cooler climates.  During cold winter, birds need a source of liquid water because it allows them to use the heat energy for survival as they can convert caloric energy of snow and ice to water. Heated birdbath can keep them from completely freezing as they can't create warm water.
  6. Solar Fountain: A solar powered birdbath has built in solar panels that either add movement through fountain and a bubbler or provide energy either for heating the water. If desired, you can removed the solar panels in some models because these can make your birdbath fountain to be expensive though can be a dynamic additions to your garden.
