These strawberries hail from that capitol of all things berry: Oregon. They have a short season - just a few weeks. Catch them if you can.
•Rosa Linda
Rosa Linda is a medium-sized berry with a bright red color all the way through the fruit. Its flavor is full-bodied and aromatic.
•Seascape
Seascapes are bright red and perfectly "strawberry" shaped. They aren't super-duper sweet and so work well in dishes where you need to add additional sugar anyway - jam anyone?
•Sweet Charlie
Sweet Charlie is orange-red on the outside and orange streaked with white in the inside with a distinctly sweet flavor due to a high sugar-to-acid ratio.
•Tristar
Small and long, these berries, along with Alpines, are often labelled "fraises des bois," the French term for wild strawberries. They aren't wild, but they do have great flavor and fragrance, so keep preparations simple!
•Ventana
Ventana has bright red fruit, slightly lighter in color, a good flavor, standard shape, and large size with excellent fruit quality.
