Things You'll Need
Instructions
Ammonia
1Dampen a soft rag with household ammonia.
2
Scrub the glass with the rag until it is clean. Switch to a clean part of the rag and apply more ammonia as needed.
3
Buff the glass doors with a dry rag to remove any residue.
Vinegar
1Fill a clean, empty spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Spray the vinegar solution liberally onto the dirty fireplace glass.
2
Let the vinegar and water mixture sit on the glass for five to 10 minutes. Scrub the glass in a circular motion with a rag until it's clean.
3
Wipe down the glass with a rag and plain water, then buff with a dry rag to remove any residue.
Ashes
1Dampen a soft rag with water. Dip the rag into fireplaces ashes.
2
Scrub the glass with the rag and ashes, using a firm, circular motion. Wipe down the glass with a clean, damp rag to remove the ashes so you can see what spots are still dirty on the glass.
3
Apply more ashes to the glass and continue scrubbing. Alternate scrubbing with the ashes, then wiping the glass with a clean, damp rag until the glass is cleaned to your satisfaction. Give the glass a final wipe with a clean damp rag, then buff with a dry rag to remove any residue.
