- 1). Peel ginger root by scraping it with a spoon or using a potato peeler.
- 2). Thinly slice the ginger root. You will need about 6 slices per cup of tea.
- 3). Slightly crush the ginger root with the back of the spoon to release the flavor.
- 4). Place ginger root and 1 cup of water in a boiler.
- 5). Cook on high until the tea begins to boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you want it to be.
- 6). Before serving, pour the tea through a strainer to remove the ginger root.
- 7). Add honey to taste.
