Place the beaker inside the basin of the ultra sonic cleaner. Lower the brass pieces into the beaker in a single layer. Add a second beaker of brass to the ultra sonic cleaner to duplicate the process and clean more brass at once.

Pour distilled white vinegar into the beaker until half the height of the brass is covered. Add distilled water to the beaker until the brass is fully covered. Add a drop of liquid dish soap for every cup of distilled water in the beaker.

Set the timer on the ultra sonic cleaner for three separate cycles of 480 seconds each. The timer can also be set for 24 continuous minutes. Pour out the cleaning vinegar solution.

Rinse the brass pieces with distilled water. Fill the beaker of brass to the 600 ml line with distilled water. Add 1 and 1/3 grams of baking soda to the water.

Place the beaker in the basin of the ultra sonic cleaner. Set the timer for 480 seconds or eight minutes. Pour off the cleaning solution and rinse the brass with distilled water.

Add hot distilled water to the beaker until the brass is completely covered. Return the beaker to the ultra sonic cleaner for another 480 seconds or eight minutes. Pour out the water.

Refill the beaker with room temperature distilled water until the brass is covered. Return the beaker to the ultra sonic cleaner for another 480 seconds or eight minutes. Pour out the water.

Dry the brass with a soft cloth. Store the cleaned brass in an air-tight glass or plastic container.
