- 1). Remove the old or damaged fletch with a fletching tool or razor blade. Use caution when cutting the fletch free so that the bolt is not gouged or otherwise damaged by the sharp edge.
- 2). Sand the area of the bolt where the fletch was attached. Use a fine grit piece of sandpaper to remove any remaining epoxy and to also rough the surface in preparation for installing the new fletch.
- 3). Wipe or blow as much of the sanding debris from the surface of the bolt as possible.
- 4). Wipe the bolt with rubbing alcohol. Purchase rubbing alcohol from a drug store and apply it to a rag. Wipe the bolt to remove sanding residue and any other debris that might interfere with installing the new fletch.
