How to Remove Crimp Hose Clamps

    • 1). Turn off the power for the appliance or transport that contains the crimped hose clamp that you want to remove. If this is a car, for example, set it in "Park," put on the parking brake, and remove the keys from the ignition. If this crimped hose clamp is on a live line with fluid passing through, shut off the fluid source, if possible.

    • 2). Clean off the area around the crimp hose clamp with the rag and de-greaser. This will allow you to see the clamp.

    • 3). Insert the wire cutters underneath the clamp. Carefully begin cutting the clamp off the hose. Work slowly, so that you do not damage the hose.

    • 4). Remove the hose clap from the hose. Use a pair of pliers, if necessary.
