- The Mitsubishi Eclipse made its debut in the United States in 1990. There were four models of the Eclipse built that year. The models ranged from a base model with a 1.8-liter engine that had 90 horsepower to the GSX model with a 2.0-liter engine that had 190 horsepower. The 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse includes a GS two-door hatchback model that includes a more powerful 2.4-liter engine.
