Fun Employee Meeting Ideas

Speed Networking: Setting up the Room

    • Most people know very few details of the lives of their fellow workers outside the office. Speed networking works like speed dating. Seat employees in rows of chairs along each side of as many conference tables as needed.

    How It Works

    • The meeting leader rings a bell and the people on one side of the table have two minutes to tell the people across from them their name, department or affiliation and a few facts about themselves. Two minutes later, the leader rings the bell and the second group talk about themselves to the person across the table.

    Closure

    • Every four minutes, the people on one side of the table move to the left one chair. The last person in the row walks to the first chair in the row and the sessions start again until everyone has spoken to each fellow employee once.

    Goals and Intros

    • The chairperson opens the meeting by introducing herself, stating her department or affiliation and states one personal and one company or department goal. Goals can be serious or humorous. The more outrageous the goal, the more fun this becomes. For example, someone states a personal goal of setting the Guinness record for singing bad karaoke in the shower. The introductions go around the room until everyone has spoken.

    Making the Chain

    • Once everyone has spoken, each person in the room attempts to name every other person, as well as his affiliation and goal. The person who can name the longest unbroken string of names and goals chooses a small door prize. The person who can name everyone and state their goal or affiliation gets a large door prize.
