- 1). Place a few glass jars around the home or lawn, filled with about 2 inches each of molasses. The lizards are attracted to the sweet smell of the molasses, and when they jump into the jar, they become trapped in the thick, sticky molasses. This works both indoors and outdoors. Remember to check the jars every day or two, and replace the molasses as needed when you capture crickets in the jars. Rinse the jars with a garden hose to wash out the molasses.
- 2). Keep pets in and around the home. Cats and lizards will both take care of the cricket problem quickly with practically no effort on your part.
- 3). Place sticky traps around the home and lawn. These traps are typically baited with a non-chemical scent that attracts crickets as well as other bugs that may cause damage.
- 4). Examine the perimeter of your home, if crickets are getting inside. Seal off cracks and openings, because crickets only need a small space to squeeze through to enter the home.
