How to Eat Foods that Lower Uric Acid

    • 1). AVOID GOUT - Avoid gout and gout symptoms by reducing the level of uric acid in your system. Do not eat foods that cause or irritate the gout in your feet. Foods to avoid are mainly those that come from animal organs. Foods such as kidney, liver, heart and brain should be avoided by gout arthritis sufferers. These foods are extremely high in uric acid which can cause or irritate your gout symptoms. There is no need for you to eat these foods because there are many alternatives that are much healthier such as lean meats, turkey and chicken. You should also avoid foods such as beans, legumes and vegetables such as cauliflower. Another food that may cause or irritate your gout is fructose. Avoid sugary foods that are high in fructose.

    • 2). DRINK PLENTY OF WATER - Keep your uric acid low naturally by drinking plenty of water each day. Pure water should be consumed at the rate of eight to twelve glasses per day at eight ounces a glass. Do not count tea, milk, coffee, soda or flavored waters of any kind including vitamin water as your water. Only pure water counts towards your eight to twelve glasses per day.     • 3). MOVE IT - Keep your body active and moving each day. Exercise is best, but if you are unable to exercise because of pain or another reason, you should still move around as much as you can. If you can walk, then you should do it. Ask your doctor how much exercise you can do and do it. You should be exercising at least thirty minutes per day, five days per week if your body is able to do so. Slowly add in weight training three to five days per week to build muscle. If you take care of your body, you will have a lot less pain.
