How to Season Anodized Nonstick Skillets

    • 1). Preheat the oven to 350 F.

    • 2). Heat the skillet on the stove over medium heat for one minute with nothing inside.

    • 3). Remove the skillet from heat and coat the inside of the pan with lard or vegetable oil. Make sure you get all of the surface area of the inside of the skillet, repeating the oiling process if necessary.

    • 4). Heat the oil on the stove until it just begins to smoke. Immediately remove the skillet from heat.

    • 5). Pour off any excess oil into the sink and put the skillet in the oven for one hour.

    • 6). Remove the skillet from the oven after one hour has passed and allow it to cool to room temperature. Wipe any excess oil out of the pan with a paper towel.

    • 7). Wash the pan with dish soap, warm water and a nonabrasive sponge. Dry the skillet with a clean towel.
