- The Philo Apple Farm is located about 50 miles northwest of San Francisco. In the Farm Weekend Course, guests help prepare Friday dinner, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. The cost of the course does not cover lodging though there are guest cottages nearby. For those who want to spend less time cooking, there is the Relaxed Farm Weekend, where you only prepare two meals and take tours exploring the surrounding valley. Both classes offer a wonderful opportunity to get out of the city and recharge the batteries.
- The Greer Farm in northeast Texas mainly sells their meat and produce to the public, but they also offer classes and overnight accommodations. Their in-house chef offers monthly cooking sessions that cover basic cooking skills, soups and stews, baking breads and smoking meat. There are fruit orchards (including blueberries and figs) that are sold in season. You can buy pre-picked fruit or harvest your own berries.
- In Ohio, the Woodhaven Farm is known for its exciting cooking school classes. It is also a very popular venue for corporate team building. They have one- and two-day classes. Menu themes include Comfort Food for Cold Days, A Trip to Italy and Farm Brunch. The classes are very "hands-on" with everyone working together and then enjoying the fruits of their labors.
- The Chiang Mai Farm, located in Northern Thailand, provides transportation from your hotel to the farm, stopping at a local market. Here, instructors give tips about buying ingredients. At the farm itself you will learn more about the local food. The Chiang Mai Farm has a kitchen large enough to provide space and equipment for all. Guests prepare their own lunch with the help of instructors and eat out on the patio overlooking the farm. After taking some time to explore the surrounding farm and countryside guests then prepare an evening meal which they take back to their hotels for dinner.
- This farm is located in rural South Africa, about three hours away from Johannesburg. Not only does the farm grow its own fruits and vegetables and raise its own livestock, but it also has a lake stocked with fish that can be caught and cooked on-site. The farm is also close to many wildlife preserves and would be convenient for visitors who are also on a safari. The school provides classes in a variety of culinary styles including traditional South African cooking, Italian, Mexican, Moroccan and Deli cuisine.
