Nokia N97 vs LG KP500 Cookie- We know the winner!

If we compare the latest touchscreen phones N97 from Nokia and KP 500 Cookie from LG then we find that N97 has more number of features than KP500 Cookie and is definitely a best bet to go for in between the two phones. Nokia N97 is also a 3G handset besides being capable of running on various 2G frequencies which include GSM 850/900/1800 and 1900, on the other hand LG KP500 Cookie is not a 3G handset and can work only under 2G spectrum. Apart from this, N97 has 3.5 inches of touch screen which delivers the richness of 16M colors but 3.0 inches of TFT resistive touch screen of Cookie features only 256K colors. For serious textures, a full QWERTY is present in N97 which is missing in Cookie. Nokia N97 is a typical touchscreen phone cum PDA and comes with pre-loaded Symbian OS v9.4, the proprietary software of Nokia. This aspect is also missing in KP500 Cookie as it is not a PDA device even. If we compare in-built cameras then again we find N97 better than Cookie as the former features 5 MP camera with added specialties of Carl Zeiss Optics, autofocus, LED flash, video light etc. and in case of Cookie, the inbuilt camera is of 3.14 MP and offers image resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. As N97 is a PDA device so it is quite large in comparison to Cookie and has dimensions of 117.2x55.3x15.9 mm and weight of 150 gram. Some of the features which are present in both the handsets are:GPRS, Bluetooth, micro USB port, music player, video compatibility etc. but their degree of goodness varies. To explain this, let us take example of GPRS, in Nokia N97, GPRS is of class 32 which is of class 10 in case of LG KP500 Cookie. N97 has built in Wi-Fi and GPS (with Nokia maps) which are not available in Cookie. Stereo FM radio with cutting edge features of visual radio and FM transmitter can easily be seen in N97 and though Stereo FM radio has also been given in Cookie but added specialties of visual radio and FM transmitter are not present. As far as power options are concerned, with the help of standard Li-ion battery (1500 mAh), N97 offers talk time of up to 9h 30 minutes under 2G network coverage and gives talk time of up to 6h while being used under 3G network. Cookie has standard Li-ion 900 mAh battery fitted inside, enabling it to give talk time of up to 3h 30 minutes and stand by time of up to 350h. And, being the first Nseries phone from Nokia in 2009, N97 competes with some of the top class touchscreen phones like Iphone 3Gs etc. and has been designed especially for internet savvy users who would love to enjoy some of the best multimedia aspects. On the other hand, LG cookie is from mid segment of touchscreen phones and targets customers who are looking a good touchscreen phone at competent pricing (Cookie is priced at around 170 Euro before taxes & subsidies). So, both the phones have their own customer base as per their various aspects (features, pricing, technology being used etc.).
