Mix one part liquid fabric softener to two parts water, and spray the blanket all over with it.

Hang the blanket in the bathroom while a hot shower is running. The humidity will help get rid of the static electricity.

Rub a fabric softener sheet all over the blanket to absorb the potential electricity.

Rub the blanket all over thoroughly with a wire coat hanger.
